spud has two ways you can purchase organic produce.
You can select individual items from the organic produce category for each delivery, or you can create your own Fresh Harvest Box.
spud's Fresh Harvest Box is a variety of delicious organic fruits and vegetables that are tailored by you to your unique preferences. You can still make as many substitutions, additions or deletions to your Fresh Harvest Box as you like before the deadline. The price is adjusted accordingly. (Note: it is just fine if you do not wish to have produce in your order, as you are not required to. You can enter an order for any number of items of whatever type you wish.)
Ordering groceries
spud makes healthy eating easy with a complete selection of natural foods, including milk, bread, pasta and ready-made meals.
Login using your customer code and password (Note: these are given to you after you've signed up.). Browse spud! products by category or feature under the 'Groceries & More' tab, or use the search feature to find a specific item. When you find a product that you want to order, choose your quantity, and add to your order by clicking 'Buy'. When you are satisfied with your order, proceed to checkout, then submit your order. An email will arrive confirming your order.
The Standing Order -- At spud! you can create a standing order that saves you time and money. Schedule products to arrive weekly, every 2 weeks, or once every 4 weeks. For example, you could schedule a Fresh Harvest Box weekly, milk every 2 weeks, and butter once every 4 weeks. As an additional perk, you get 5% off most products on your Standing Order(excluding produce, selected dairy items and some others)!
My Lists -- This feature allows you to create different shopping lists for products that you buy frequently or that you want to group together to make it faster and easier to do your grocery shopping.
Specials & Discounts -- Just like a regular grocery store, spud offers weekly specials and caselot discounts.
100% Satisfaction Guarantee -- If you're not completely satisfied with a product, spud! will refund it in full.
Submitting your order
You can change your order any number of times before your deadlines. Each time you change your order and submit it, an email will be sent to you confirming all details.
For most products the order deadline is by 9am the day before your delivery. Products labeled with an 'A' such as fresh bread are Advance order; for these items, the deadline is 9:00 AM 2 (two) days prior to your scheduled delivery day. Orders cancelled past the deadline may be subject to a $5.00 restocking fee and Advance order products may be donated on your behalf to a charitable organization. Free Delivery! spud has no minimum order, however, for FREE delivery, your order must exceed a minimum amount based on your area.
spud has no membership fee, no surcharges and no cancellation fee. There are refundable deposits on ice packs, freezer bags, and items such as milk bottles.
Paying for your order
Credit or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express)spud bills your card the day after delivery. Easy and convenient!
spud protects your credit card and bank information in a secure encrypted file.
Receiving your groceries
Each order is shipped in a reusable bin. Inside, your groceries are carefully packed and kept fresh using specially designed ice packs and freezer bags.
In the bin, you will also find a complete printed receipt and our very informative Garlic Press newsletter. Published weekly, the newsletter profiles events and people within the community, health and wellness news, and information about spud and local suppliers.
Each community is designated a delivery day, for example, spud delivers to Bellevue on Thursdays. To find out your delivery day, view the spud delivery areas.
spud drivers deliver between the hours of 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM. On your delivery day, the spud delivery driver will leave your groceries at your door or another location that you specify.
There are several options for apartment delivery, however, it's most convenient for you to provide a front door key so that the spud! driver can leave the delivery at your suite door.
Preparing for your next delivery
On the morning that your next grocery order will arrive, put out your empty bin and any bottle returns, ice packs and freezer jackets. (Please note: if bins are unreturned after 8 weeks, a $10.00 charge per bin will be placed against the credit/debit card on file.)
